Terms of Service — Curriculum Compass

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Curriculum Compass ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Curriculum Compass provides personalized homeschool curriculum planning, scheduling, resource recommendations, portfolio tracking, and reporting tools for parents and guardians. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

3. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Free Trial & Subscriptions

New accounts may include a 14-day free trial. No card is charged during the trial period unless you choose a paid plan.
Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until canceled.
You can cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record.

5. Refunds

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on first-time paid subscriptions. After 14 days, fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Contact support to request a refund.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for unlawful purposes or to violate the rights of others.
Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data that do not belong to you.
Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service without written permission.
Upload malware or content that infringes intellectual property rights.

7. Your Content

You retain ownership of the curriculum plans, learner profiles, and other content you create in the Service. You grant us a limited license to store, display, and process your content solely to operate the Service for you.

8. Intellectual Property

The Curriculum Compass name, logo, software, and all original content provided by us are owned by Curriculum Compass and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy or redistribute them without permission.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. Curriculum recommendations are educational suggestions, not professional advice. You are responsible for compliance with your state or country's homeschool laws.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Curriculum Compass will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a risk to other users or the Service.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
